We were on our way home and saw this restaurant in Poplar Bluff. Decided to give it a shot and we were really surprised but how good the restaurant overall. Was greeted warmly by the Hostess, and served by the kind and nimble Andrew, we felt the sincere service from him. Really amazed by all the foods we ordered, from appetizers to sushis, and hibachi as well. We didnt take many pictures since we stuffed ourselves with all the delicious foods. The way they plate the foods was out of our expectations, and the taste was perfect. The service from the server, Andrew, was perfect as well. He knows all the stuffs from A to Z, answered all our questions patiently, and paid a lot of attention to our situation, timely to refill our drink, and gave us napkins at the right time. We sat at the bar to pay attention to how the sushi chef handled our sushi rolls, and he handled our rolls with precision and speed of a master. Really, really an amusing experience, seeing a master at work up close. If you wanna pay a visit, please treat yourself to sit at the sushi bar, and request to be served by Andrew. You will enjoy a comfortable dining experience with exquisite and extraordinary foods from the best sushi chef. Didnt try the hibachi show since we loved quiet situation, but the hibachi sounds really lively, will try next time when we are in town. See you again, Watami Poplar Bluff.

My wife is celiac so finding great food that is safe for her to is sometimes hard. This place is a hidden jem! Large portions, absolutely delicious with amazing presentation. This is a must try establishment. Fast and reliable quality food. Dining is suitable for a romantic date night or even business meetings, high-profile or casual one on ones. Our new favorite while in Poplar Bluff missouri!

This isn't my top restaurant for sushi but it is in the top 3, and definitely good for Poplar Bluff Missouri. We had sushi for 2, seaweed salad and jalapeno yellow fin. Service was good and friendly. Will come back and try again with other dishes

I love having someone cook for me, but this was our 2nd trip to a Watami's, and all 3 of us loved!! That's saying something about my husband because he loves Big Whiskey, but tonight we tried Watami's . Even if you don't know what to order, just tell them steak and shrimp and then sit back and enjoy the show! You gotta try this place! Btw....you're gonna need a take-home box because you're gonna have more than enough food

Had a supper yesterday, planned to stay only for an hour but unexpectedly enjoyed the meals that made me sit over 2 hours, enjoying a bunch of sashimis, carefully made sushis, a glass of nice warm sake as accompany, and a few glasses of delectable beers. The sushi chefs here are very friendly, but at the same time they are taking their professionalism really seriously. Every sushis they made are presentable, each bite of sashimis show that each slice possesses tremendous amount of experience to handle the dish and commitment to choose the best suppliers to provide the best for their customers. Tried their hot appetizers as well, such as Crab Rangoons and Soft Shell Crab, they were flavorful, but I still prefer their cold appetizers from their sushi bar. Their sashimi appetizer is must try if you are into raw fish. Tuna carpaccio has a different way to enjoy tuna since it is slightly submerged in their special sauce, altering the taste from the first bite to the end. Their mackerel sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, and unagi sashimi are the best! Dont skip the salmon belly sashimi if you have the chance, since they are not always in stock. The fatty mouthfeel and slight chewiness make you to crave more and more. Kudos to sushi master William and his team to make the dining experience yesterday very remarkable and unforgettable. For price to quality ratio, my brief opinion, it is worth the buck to enjoy the impressive dining experience and best of their sushi - sashimi high quality ingredients. Not only they have amazing quality of foods, their service are excellent as well, especially from kind Andrew. Really love to support this kind of excellent local restaurant.

There were seven of us for a business dinner this Wednesday evening, 5/28/25. We were all from out of town. All of us were very pleased from the moment we arrived: friendly reception, service, quality of food, and quantity of food portions. The hibachi chef prepared the best meal, chicken, shrimp, and steak, and provided the best entertainment while preparing with techniques we have not seen. The parking lot is well-lit, and the property is very safe. I think this property is about one year old. All of us said we would return.

Food was AMAZING! A lot of food for the price. Went in with a family of four and not one of us finished our plate. The robot was very cute and our server went above and beyond what was expected of him. We will defiantly be going back. Thank you guys for the awesome experience. Very fancy up to date place.

Ordered the chirashi, with extra white tuna on the side. The sushi master chef William prepared our chirashi thoughtfully, with all his heart put into the food. The best chirashi we have ever tried, very lucky that we stumbled on this place and will be loyal customer from here on. The lightly scorched white tuna tasted amazing, very slight burnt aroma, but fresh on the first bite, combined with heavenly sauce, make perfect combination. He even gave me special sauce only for the sliced octopus on the chirashi. With one meal only, I was given the experiences of trying 3 different combination. For new customers who want to try their sashimi, I strongly recommend their chirashi, with special request for their slightly flamed white tuna. The little extra add on was really really worth it, for a special taste and experience. Dont forget to tip him (William the sushi master) at the end since he always make every visit memorable.
